Sonographic Evaluation of the Venous System of the Upper Limb

Bernard Lewandowski

Dr. Bernard Lewandowski. We will review the physiology and pathophysiology of the jugular and subclavian venous system with emphasis on the venous Doppler wave forms. We will compare and contrast the upper limb and lower limb venous anatomy; describe the 2-D and Doppler sono-anatomy and sonopathology. Many examples of pathology of increasing complexity will be presented in quiz format expecting audience participation. We will discuss the implications of thrombus. Examples of the jugular and picc line will be shown and discussed.
