Congenital heart disease occurs in 1/1800 live births. Fetuses are at increased risk for featl heart disease (HD) depending on maternal / familial and fetal risk factors . Most fetuses with HD have no known risk factors. The basic fetal sonogram may be the only opportunity to detect HD prior to birth. Assessment of the 4-chamber
view and cardiac outflow tracts should identify 2/3s.
