Carotid Sonography from the Sonographers Perspective
Keith McDonald
Keith McDonald, RDMS, RDCS, RVT.
The objective for the sonographer performing carotid examination is to provide accurate, and reproducible data. Although the objective is clear there are multiple variations and opinions as to how to best collect this data. This lecture will make the case that a consistent technique is the key to both accuracy and reproducibility. We will examine some of the controversies of methodology in carotid scanning and learn that applying technique consistently is more important than which method is chosen.
